Tina Gugat I have a friend who works for a large corporation and wants to get his pilot license and ratings and fly the company.  However, he recently got a 2nd DWI.  Will this void all chances at getting his license or medical?

Jeremy Bushnell Tina, I know a CFI who has a DUI and still has his certificate. He had a rough time when he reported to the FAA but he still got his ticket.

I would imagine that since there is a second offense on record..and it will be checked thoroughly because you give the FAA permission to take a look at the national registry....there will be a lot of questions. The logic is simple...if a person will drink and drive they can well drink and fly. Eight hours bottle to throttle has a specific intent but relies upon self control.

  • Charles Has anyone viewed the video link about Plane Spotters?  At our local airport people take pictures and movies all the time and I have never seen an officer pull a gun and put people on the ground.  And I think even I know the difference between a shoulder mounted missile and a camera.  Curious where these events took place.
