I have a friend who works for a large corporation. He would like to fly for the company, but recently got a 2nd DWI. Will this void all chances at becoming a pilot? He passed his medical, but the DWI information has been sent to the FAA ...

- Jeremy Bushnell Tina, I know a CFI who has a DUI and still has his certificate. He had a rough time when he reported to the FAA but he still got his ticket.

- Charles The FAA will give close scrutiny to the applicant. The rules originally placed that upon the AME giving the medical to determine if the applicant has a substance abuse issue but now the application is deferred to the FAA. Details can be found at
